Managing Antimalware Exclusions
Antimalware exclusions allow you to exempt specific files, folders, processes, or file extensions from antivirus scanning. This ensures that our platform’s applications are not incorrectly flagged as malicious.
Steps to Enable Antimalware Exclusions
- Log in to the GravityZone Admin Console.
- Go to the Policies page.
- Select an existing policy or create a new one.
- Navigate to Antimalware → Exclusions.
- Select the In-Policy Exclusions button.
- Select the type from the dropdown > enter the file path > select (on-demand, on-access) > Add a description, then click Add.
- Click Save.
Configuring Custom Exclusions
Custom exclusions allow you to define more specific or vendor-related exclusions.
Steps to Add a Custom Exclusion Rule
- Go to the Policies page.
- Open a policy template by adding or editing a policy.
- Go to the Antimalware > Exclusions section of the policy. Notice the table under the Custom Exclusions section.
- Select the type of object to be excluded from the dropdown menu. (File, Folder, Process, Extension).
- Enter the details to identify the object:
Files, Folders, or Processes
Enter the path to the objects to be excluded.
- For processes, add the application's executable filename.
- It is advisable to use system variables (where appropriate) to make sure the path is valid on all target computers. You can select such a predefined location from the drop-down menu.
- For example, to exclude a specific folder from Program Files, select %ProgramFiles% from the menu, add a backslash (), and then enter the remaining path to your folder.
Extensions
- Enter one or more file extensions, separated by semicolon (;).
- You can enter extensions with or without the preceding dot. For example, enter txt to exclude text files.
- Select the scanning modules to which the rule should apply. For details on applicability.
- Click Add, then Save.
Blocking or Allowing Specific Websites with Content Control
