Admin Managers' Guide: How to Create a Single Training Session


What is a Single Training Session?


Is a one-off training event. Select one or two topics, pick your schedule, assign your team, and let Goldphish handle the rest automatically.

Before You Begin

Creating a Single Session


Step 1. Create Session


  1. Sign in to your Admin Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Training > Sessions.
  3. Click the Create Session button (top right).
  4. In the Choose Training Type pop-up, select Single Session


Step 2. Select Assignments


Assignment Types:

  • Interactive Modules: Video, eLearning, and embedded assessments (~10 mins).
  • Micro Modules: Quick learning moments (~2 mins).
  • Videos: Great for monthly reinforcement (~2 mins).

How to Select Content:

  • Click on the module cards to select content. Keep an eye on your selected counter to track your queue.
  • Content Filters: Use the dropdown filters to search for content by Language, Name, Topic, or Status.

Step 3. Select Recipients


Choose who will be enrolled in this specific session:

  • Only me: Adds only your profile, perfect for testing a session layout before a company-wide rollout.
  • Everyone: Targets all active learners across the entire company.
  • Specific Departments: Target specific groups (e.g., Finance, HR).
  • Specific Learners: Manually pick individual users.

Note: If you choose Everyone or a Specific Department, any new hires added to the platform while a session is live or upcoming will be automatically enrolled. They won't be backdated into sessions that have already ended.


Step 4. Set a Schedule


Choose when and for how long the session will run:


  1. Launch Date: Set the calendar date and exact execution time (HH: MM).
  2. Active Period: Choose how long the session window will remain open:
  • Month: One calendar month.
  • Day: A fixed, customised number of days.
  • Custom: Manually pick unique start and end dates.
  1. Click Complete Setup

Good to Know: Users can still access and complete their assigned training even after the official session end date has passed.


Step 5. Complete Session Setup


  1. Give your session a Session Name and Description.
  2. To adjust anything, click Edit next to the corresponding section.
  3. Check your Training Reminders settings at the bottom. (If you notice your reminders are not enabled, click Settings > Reminders to toggle them ON before launching).
  4. Click Start Session to launch! 🚀

Tracking Training Sessions Progress & Reports


You can track your performance and performance in real-time via two routes in Session Overview, where you can view real-time progress and completion metrics.


  1. Go to Dashboard > My Company > scroll down to Training Sessions, select your session > to open the Session Overview.
  2. Go to Training > Sessions > select your training session > click View Session to open the Session Overview.

Downloading Reports:

  • Session Overview: Click the Reports button in the top right of the Session Overview page to download a CSV or PDF report.
  • Report Dashboard: You can also access and download reports anytime directly from the Reports section > Training Sessions.
